Building commissioning is the process that ensures that all the systems – HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, Fire/Life Safety, Security, and the Building Envelope – operate as intended per the owner’s project requirements and as designed by the building architects and engineers. Building commissioning is a quality assurance process necessary for the complexity of modern construction projects. SES is involved from project initiation to project completion. The basic formula for successful building commissioning involves a synergy of pre-construction review of design documents for compliance with the owner’s project requirements, periodic site observations during the construction phase, systems performance testing, owner training verification, confirmation of proper project closeout documentation, ongoing commissioning, and monitoring based commissioning.
