Project Overview
Windsor, CT – SES performed an Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) verification study across multiple Windsor Public School buildings. This project was conducted to meet the state-mandated Public Act No. 23-167, requiring IAQ assessments to ensure compliance with ASHRAE standards and to promote a healthy learning environment.
SES evaluated HVAC systems responsible for ventilation, reviewed system documentation, conducted field assessments, and verified compliance with ASHRAE 62 standards. The process involved coordination with a Testing, Adjusting & Balancing firm for ventilation rate verification and condition assessments of HVAC equipment, including air handling units (AHUs), rooftop units (RTUs), energy recovery ventilators (ERVs), unit ventilators, exhaust fans, and building automation systems. At the conclusion of each school, a comprehensive report including recommendations for improving indoor air quality and HVAC system performance was developed and shared with Windsor Public Schools for review.
