Project Overview

West Hartford, CT – SES provided facility reopening services for the town’s 16 schools as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Through a retro-commissioning process, SES assessed and adjusted the various HVAC systems throughout the school district based on requirements defined in Guidance for School Systems for the Operation of Central and non-Central Ventilation Systems issued by the State of Connecticut. Reopening services included an assessment of air handling systems filtration, replacing filters with increased MERV ratings where possible, evaluation and adjustment of ventilation airflow rates, and overall air handling systems assessment for deficiencies that would prevent effective operation for a safe environment for the buildings’ occupants. SES is currently commissioning the system upgrades identified for implementation in the assessment, on a school by school basis.
