Project Overview
Pittsfield, MA – The Berkshire County Jail and House of Correction is a direct supervision facility in Pittsfield, MA that includes 288 cells divided among eight housing units. This state-of-the-art operation replaced the 1870 Second Street Jail, that had become overcrowded in previous years. SES provided commissioning and measurement and verification (M&V) services for this energy efficiency design-build project for the existing 200,000-square-foot correctional facility. The scope included specific energy conservation measures for the central plant, HVAC systems, domestic hot water, and new photovoltaic system through both construction and turnover phase.
