Project Overview
Charlestown, MA – SES provided building commissioning services to support a multi-year, campus-wide energy efficiency and sustainability improvement project at Bunker Hill Community College (Charlestown Campus). The project consisted of select equipment replacement, upgrades to the existing HVAC systems and building automation system controls and mechanical repairs to existing systems. The project features the implementation of several energy conservation measures including central boiler and chiller replacements, building automation system modifications to the air handling units and exhaust fans and the installation of a photovoltaic array. SES also reviewed related existing building systems, identified deficiencies and performance issues, recommended potential improvements, and reviewed operation of recently applied energy conservation measures. The intent of the project was to optimize building performance with a focus on energy savings and efficient operation. The project also included optimization of the chilled water plant through sequence upgrades and additional controlling devices.
