Project Overview

Hartford, CT – SES provided commissioning services for the renovation of the original Weaver High School, constructed in 1922, bringing the Martin Luther King, Jr. Middle School and Breakthrough Magnet School North onto one campus. Many historical features of the original building were preserved to maintain the Neo-Gothic style. This project was constructed in accordance with the Connecticut High Performance Building Standards and included pre-design, design, construction and post-occupancy services.  The scope of work included commissioning of all HVAC equipment, hot water heating plant, air handling systems, terminal devices, lab exhaust systems, general exhaust, domestic hot water, fire alarm system, fire protection, lighting controls and building envelope.

In 2021, this project received an Award of Merit at the Connecticut Building Congress Project Team Awards for the teamwork and mutual respect of the team, which SES was proud to be a part of.
