Mystic River Magnet School

Project Overview

Groton, CT – The Mystic River Magnet School is a 75,000 sq. ft elementary school which educates approximately 525 students on a daily basis. This School focuses on STEM courses with a course emphasis on Active Exploration and Ingenuity.

SES was hired to perform water spray quality testing on eight selected areas; four specimens of installed curtain wall and four specimens of installed windows on the first, second and third floor of the school. SES was also hired to perform pull-off strength testing on several selected areas and an IR scan on the entirety of the roof. By testing envelope components early, and according to performance-based standards, many specific installation and component problems that would not be visually detected can be identified and corrected before they become systemic.
