Project Overview
South Windsor, CT – Orchard Hill Elementary School is a newly constructed elementary facility housing pre-kindergarten through fifth grade. The facility is approximately 72,000 gross square feet. The school is programmed to host a design enrollment of 574 students. The increase in enrollment from 387 students is due to consolidation of the existing five elementary schools into four schools and the redistribution of programs from other schools to the Orchard Hill Elementary School. Commissioned systems included all HVAC, lighting controls, daylighting systems, life safety systems, security, plumbing systems, building envelope and building automation system.
In 2019, the Connecticut Building Congress (CBC) awarded this project First Place for the project team, which SES was proud to be part of.
