Project Overview
Providence, RI – SES provided comprehensive commissioning services for the new Spaziano Annex Elementary School, a Net-Zero Energy, NE CHPS-certified facility serving 684 students in a dual-language program. The 85,000 SF, PK-5 school was built on the site of the former Spaziano Annex Elementary and was designed to be a community-centered learning environment.
The four-story building integrates co-located public spaces for after-hours use, a family resource center, and a garden level. The project prioritized sustainability, incorporating high-efficiency MEP systems and rooftop photovoltaics to maintain a low Energy Use Intensity (EUI).
SES provided design, construction, and post-occupancy phase commissioning, ensuring optimal performance of the building’s MEP and envelope systems. Through detailed system testing, verification, and fine-tuning, SES helped the school meet its Net-Zero Energy goals, delivering a high-performance learning environment for students and the broader Providence community.
