Standard Test Method for Field Determination of Water Penetration of Installed Exterior Windows, Skylights, Doors, and Curtain Walls

This test method simulates a wind-driven rain event under severe rainfall. It consists of sealing a custom chamber to the interior face of the specimen, exhausting air from the chamber on the interior at a rate required to maintain the test pressure difference across the specimen while spraying a calibrated rack onto the face of the specimen at the specified flow rate and observing for any water penetration. There are two different methods of tests that can be performed: uniform static air pressure for 15 minutes or cyclic static air pressure. This is stipulated by the specifier or according to the standard of five minutes on, one minute off, for three cycles.
