Project Overview

Groton, CT – Thames River Magnet School was constructed as part of the Town of Groton’s “Groton 2020” project, aimed at downsizing the number of elementary schools in town. This K-5 school has a focus on environmental and marine sciences and partners with organizations to provide students with hands-on experiences. SES provided commissioning services for this newly constructed facility in accordance with the Connecticut High Performance Building Standards, as well as envelope testing services. The scope of work included commissioning of all HVAC equipment, hot water heating plant, air handling systems, terminal devices, lab exhaust systems, general exhaust, domestic hot water, fire alarm system, fire protection, lighting controls and building envelope, as well as envelope testing services.
