Mill River Park Whittingham Discovery Center

Project Overview

Stamford, CT – The Mill River Park Whittingham Discovery Center is a state of the art visitor and environmental education center on the east side of Mill River Park. The center includes interactive exhibit spaces that emphasize caring for natural resources while highlighting the history behind the Mill River and surrounding area.

SES was hired by Advanced Performance Glass, Inc. to perform water spray quality testing on five selected areas of installed curtain wall.  By testing envelope components early, and according to performance-based standards, many specific installation and component problems that would not be visually detected can be identified and corrected before they become systemic. The three tests that were conducted were:

AAMA 501.2-15: Quality Assurance and Diagnostic Water Leakage Field Check of Installed Storefronts, Curtain Walls and Sloped Glazing Systems
